Kecak (monkey chant) and Bale Ganjur (marching gamelan):

Kecak (pronounced KET jak) is a highly dynamic, theatrical, rhythmic-interlocking, ritualized chant Way-of-Being. It is utterly unique, with nothing quite like it found anywhere but on the island of Bali. It comes from the music of Cak from the Sangyang trance ritual originally performed in temples. However, in its current state it is a common secular tourist attraction.

Bale Ganjur, a Balinese form of processional gamelan, is most often performed at cremation ceremonies to aid in the spirit's transmutation to the next level. The music is entrancing, magical, joyful, wild, and frightening in turns. In today's world, though still used to powerful effect in cremation ceremonies, Bale Ganjur is the center piece of large national secular competitions.

Our Bale Ganjur set consists of:

• 3 Root Gongs
• 1 Kejar - Pulse Keeping Gong
• 6 Reongs (higher pitched nipple gongs)

• 9 Ceng Ceng's (10"Hand-Cymbals).
